Processing times
Provided your application is all in order upon receipt at the U.S. Consulate General, the following is a guideline to current processing times:
- Passports: Allow up to 3 weeks.
- Visa Pages: Allow up to 5 working days.
- Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA): Processing time varies from Consulate to Consulate. If your child was not born in Australia, the application will be forwarded to the appropriate Embassy/Consulate General for process and issuance. Extra time will be required for the return of the Consular Report of Birth Abroad from the relevant Embassy/Consulate General.
- Social Security Numbers/Cards: Applications are forwarded to the Social Security Administration in Manila, Philippines. Please allow at least 3 months to receive the Social Security Card.
Certain applications may require additional documents/evidence, personal appearance of child and both parents, or processing time.
